I have seen several complaints about repairs on Sony cameras at Precision Camera, and wanted to share my excellent experience with them.
My four year old A6000 started to behave intermittently, and on Son'y online advice I shipped it to Precision Camera.
They repaired it and shipped it back in less than two days at a cost of $225, and it once again works perfectly.
No complaints from me about Sony service!
I sent stuff to them several times with no problems. They even went way above and beyond on a couple of occasions at no extra charge. One time, they corrected the problem I was having, but the camera was still not quite right. They responded by asking for a couple of lenses and repaired and calibrated at no extra charge. That one was a total of a three week affair which included me testing it out for a few days before I decided it still needed more work. There you have it.

So far, so good. As you said, though, Sony does not seem to have a good reputation for reliability and repair. That's why my A6000 is for occasional, compact use.
I was directed by Sony to
Sony Service Team
Teaneck, NJ
Email: Teaneckservice@am.sony.com
for repair. The repair was done properly but little slow.

I know this thread is about the repair service, but you could buy a new a6000 on Amazon for $450.

I have 4 Sony cams, A58, A37 and two A300 (both bought very cheaply with issues-bad LCD) and I have never broken one, nor had a problem. The last camera of mine to fail was my old Argus C3...one of the kids played with it. and my old Minolta 7000 is starting to look bad, though it still works. Good to know where to send one if there is a failure.

I may be mistaken but I think the Teaneck, NJ location is for in warranty repairs while Precision Camera is who they recommend for out of warranty repairs as Sony does not do those in house.
I don't know about it. My wasn't warranty repair.

I've had a similar positive experience with Precision Camera.
