So, the consensus of opinion seems to be that the tulip is a looser....nobody voted for it. I'm thinking of substituting a whimsical image I created more as art than photography which I call, "Send In The Clowns." It will be pretty interesting to see how the judge reacts to such a heavily manipulated image. Do any of you with camera club experience have thoughts on what to do? I can only submit 3 images.

Hard to tell how a judge will react to a picture. I enter what I like or what I would like others to see without much thought as to what a judge would think. Lots of differing opinions in camera clubs (like here)! Good luck with whatever you decide to enter.

I think Number 1 is the best - and lagging behind is number 4. For my taste, the tulip occupies way too much of the frame, without a (to me) reason to do so – and I really like tulips! Number 3 is OK, but nothing special for me.

I have zero Camera Club experience Dick, but I know what I like, and that would be #1 and #3. I agree with Lorin that the tulip doesn't have any breathing room. Good luck with whatever you decide to enter.

Sorry many opinions. The original of the tulip was in landscape format with a lot more room around it. I got talked into turning it into a portrait format. Oh well.

Thanks. I decided this morning and axed the tulip. The other 3 have been submitted. Now we wait.

It’s amazing how subjective art can be. Every respondent had a different take on each of the images. I guess the point is that the judge will be the same. I’m becoming a believer, since I’m not a commercial photographer, that’s what important is what I like. Thanks for taking the time to comment Loren.

They're all beautiful and well done, but the first one is my favorite.

Thanks Sue. Everyone seems to like that one, so hopefully it will be a winner!
