I decided to add some black sunflower seeds to the millet...and this beautiful feathered friend showed up for breakfast. Sorry folks, the proper name of this bird eludes me. (guess I needed a bit more ISO)

California Scrub Jay (formerly Western Scrub Jay then split into two species in 2016, the other is the Woodhouse's Scrub Jay)
They love peanuts in the shell, I get the roasted, unsalted ones in 5 lb bags. Crows and Ravens also like the peanuts.
Of course those weird flightless birds with fur and fluffy tails like the peanuts also. I think they are called squirrels.
Thank you Sir...I sent a copy to my 83 year old mother...she called the bird a "camp robber"... (Mom's knows everything...
)

Camp Robber is a generic name applied to several birds, including the jays because they show little fear of humans and in camp grounds will often fly in, snatch food and fly away.
The love to swoop down to my tray feeder and scare all the little birds away! They are very pretty in the spring. Nice photo!
