Colour Munki

Hi all,
I have just purchased a 'Colour Munki' as I am fed up of the colours on my monitor not reproducing accurately when I print photos.
I have successfully installed a colour profile for my monitor, but I am now stuck as to how do I create a profile for any given paper or also produce a profile for my printer. I would be eternally gratefull if someone could give me a few pointers to guide me. I have been asked to photograph some Japanese embroidery and an accurate ( as possible) colour match is essential. this is to be put on a DVD. Thanks, Norman.

Try the XRITE web site. On July 23, they are having a webinar with Joe Brady on matching prints to monitor. The webinars are excellent and Joe talks about creating profiles and getting your printer and paper to give the best results.

To view the webinars you must sign up ahead of time but they send out a link to it that you can go back and review afterward if you missed something in the presentation.

there are directions that will be very specific within the cd that comes with the device.

It has been several years since i ran printing profiles, but after the first one, it is very straight forward.

Hi all, br I have just purchased a 'Colour Munki'... (show quote)

Which Colormunki do you have? The Colormunki Display will not do printer profiles. The Colormunki Photo will.

Hi Jeep daddy,
Thank you very much for your reply. It is a Color Munki Create, and after reading your message I can now see that it is only for calibrating the monitor.. AAAAGGHHHH, never mind all is not lost, I will get hold of a color Munki photo as soon as I can. I should research the subject before parting with money, it just happened that I knew very little about this product and I found it in a camera shop whilst buying something else and I saw this with a 50% discount, so like a nut I jumped in with both feet!!!!. Thanks once again. We learn something new everyday . Normanc
