First post. Have enjoyed reading the daily digest and photos every morning with my coffee for several weeks now. Have used the Nikon D5100 for years and just upgraded to the D7200. It’s not a simple upgrade. Wondering if I could get some recommendations for a “D7200 for dummies” to help me with learning the ins and outs of the camera?

Lots of Youtube videos out there on the D7200. Steve Perry's ebook on Nikon Autofocus is a must, though not specific to the D7200. Download the manual in pdf format and read it. Practice, practice, practice - it's fun.

darrell young has a book "mastering the nikon 7200". have found it very helpful..Tony Horton on youtube has a 1 hour tutorial about the 7200 that I also found very useful.then there is the old fall back ,the dreaded "user manual". good luck. its a great camera, jim

I also recommend Steve Perry's ebook now that I have the d7200, it's a must for fast action and birds in flight (auto iso is your friend).
Beyond that I'll follow along and see what else other recommend as there's quite a bit in that camera to learn before
I jump to the d500.

I've found some of these peachpit articles helpful - and free!

I, too, upgraded from the D5100 to the D7200. I also found Darrell Young's book "Mastering the Nikon D7200" extremely helpful. And have read (and re-read) Steve Perry's autofocus ebook (available on his website). I also have David Busch's Compact Field Guide For the Nikon D7200. It's a smaller book and easy to take with you when you don't want to lug a bigger book around. Happy Shooting!

Let me second the recommendation of the David Busch books. His Compact Field Guide and the more expansive D7200 Guide are excellent reference books.

I have the full version of David Busch's book Nikon D7200 Digital SLR Photography (physical book) and also Nikon D7200: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Jerod Foster (e-reader format on tablet - Google Play books)...this one is more step by step than the Busch book, but both are excellent.
