UK based PhotoPro Mag question

I have received several offers to subscribe to PhotoPro Magazine an am curious. I cannot locate one in my local newsstand and wondered what those who are subscribing to it think? Really geared to the professional or not?

I'm offered a professional discount (75%) from the newsstand price, but since it is a relatively new magazine with a gaggle or professional Brit photographers on board, I have to wonder how useful it is.

On this side of the pond, photography magazines are just not as well assembled or written at those in the UK. Odd, but that's the way it is.

Your candid opinions welcomed.
Thanks

Don't know this one - subscribed to Practical Photography for two years afer numerous newsstand purchases. Dropped it when it became obvious they were saying the same thing over again in different words. Well worth the ivestment for the time I had it

Thanks mafadecay. With the collection of professional photographers supporting and contributing to it, it looks like it may have promise. I'm always looking for new sources of inspiration.

Hello
I've been reading this magazine for several years now. It is geared for the more experienced photographer and like you, I find useful information from really good photographers that I have applied to my photography.
Rather than play with the printed version, may I suggest you try Zinio, an online company that offers a large number of digital magazines--this one included. You can download the reader and get a single copy of any magazine they offer so you can decide if getting a subscription is a good idea. You will be surprised at the number of photographic magazines are now offered as digital so there may be other values to catch your attention.
I like the magazine for its information as well as sections where new items are announced. One nice aspect of the digital version is the live link to the supplier of items you might want more information on. Going digital has certainly helped reduce the magazine clutter in my home.
Hope this helps.

digital photo pro is an American magazine. published by the same people who publish outdoor photography (US) not to be confused with either outdoor photography (Canada) or outdoor photography (UK). digital pro is an excellent magazine, it has articles that focus on individual photographers which i like very much. don't know a UK magazine by the name of photo pro. Practical photography is excellent and for you trivia fans evolved from popular photography (UK), yes that popular photography!. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous hogger, i get sent allot of UK magazines to get ideas from to teach my students.

What I like about the UK mags (they are all good) is their enthusiasm and love for photography shines threw, like you expect an English editor to say something like the d-800 is so cool! American editors are to blasé and refined. Also like their articles where they pair up a pro with a reader to teach different styles of photography. Or where a reader writes in about how to select a macro lens for example, he gets paired up with a pro and has a range of 7 or 9 lenses to try out. If the subscriptions did not cost an arm a leg and your immortal soul i would love to subscribe.

Thanks. I may be confusing PhotoPro Magazine with the UK publication called Photo Professional Magazine.
Maybe they are related?

I can get it on the news stands here but then again they still think canada is a colony. Especially Victoria. However I find it a treasure trove of info for both professional and prosumer photo geeks. Great info, good technical reports. Lean VERY heavily to Canon. Once you can figure out the exchange rates from pounds to dollars it looks like a a good american rag. Remember brolly flash is an umbrella and torches are flashlights.

I don't know if you're aware of the "newsgroups" on the internet (an obscure area), but the one called "alt.binaries.ebook.technical" has copies of this magazine in PDF format.
If you're interested and need to know more, just post a response.
