Roller Coaster of Life... slight revision from an older previous post of mine...

Life is like an old fashion roller coaster ride... when you are young the ride is just beginning,
and you are on the slow side of time as the coaster slowly ascends towards the high point of the ride,
with that slow clankity-clank sound while you are inching your way towards the top of the ride...
Once you reach the top of the ride you begin that downhill descent, the coaster gains speed as does time,
and you are hurled through gut wrenching ups and downs, lefts and rights, at blurring speeds.
Then the coaster ride starts slowing, slowing, until you sadly reach the end of the line.
You stand up to exit the ride but you hesitate for a moment while looking back at the ride
with a smile on your face thinking to yourself, that was one hell of a ride, a ride of a lifetime!
It's too bad that a once in a lifetime ride only happens once in a lifetime, the Roller Coaster of life!

Since first writing this short article and posting it here, I have lost a few friends and a family member.
I have a sister that is turning 90 soon, a brother that is already 92... and others slightly younger
including me at 74... I am the baby brother, one of eight sons from a family of eleven!
I can see my ride slowing and I know someday my Roller Coaster of Life ride will be over for me too...
But until then I will enjoy every precious second of life with family and friends...
that's why I haven't been online much lately... trying to spend more time with those near and dear to me!

I post this now because I just saw a news flash about Senator John McCain saying "Quite a Ride... I hate to leave world"
if the account is accurate... but it sounds just like him... one of a few heroes still alive today! God bless you John McCain!

P.S. I am a Democrat and a strong believer in the United States... even during these darkest of times!!!

Why do folks like you feel the need to drag your political comments, values or ideals into a great photo forum? chase

I really can't see that the poster's comment was that much of a "political comment". Even though he's a democrat, he likes McCain...hows that political?

Maybe you have missed the point because you are filled with bitterness... I made the point that I respect John McCain although he and I have different political views!
Humanity, in my book, transcends political views!!! If this post is in the "Photography Forum" then that is my mistake... I thought that this was the general "General Chit - Chat Forum!? Please know where you are before blasting your foul mouth off!!!

Sorry for my saying "Please know where you are before blasting your foul mouth off!!!" Sometimes I lose it with a Knee-Jerk reaction when confronted by a Jerk!

Now I remember why I had stopped coming on here...

1) Yes, you did post this in Chit-Chat, where anything can be posted.

2) Yes, I also believe John McCain is a true American hero. Perhaps you might want to read this book if you have not already:
P.O.W.: A Definitive History of the American Prisoner-of-War Experience in Vietnam, 1964-1973 by John Hubbell

3) I believe that including your political party was an unnessary addition to an otherwise thoughtful post hence bringing politics
into your post.

4) My comment was about content of your post, not a personal attack on what I might think of the poster (i.e. the use of such
words as foul mouth and Jerk).

Well when you start your sentence with "Why do folks like you..."
starts off being offensive and tends to lead any reasonable person to believe
that you are attacking them and their beliefs whether they are political or not!
Now that we have both vented, let us drop it and continue on to friendlier endeavors...

P.S. I am a Vietnam War Veteran and served from 1964 through 1967...
therefore my sincere respect to John McCain the Man and Military Veteran!
