Dear Hoggers!

First off, does this type of photographic equipment even belong on this list?

I Just got me a Action Cam eq: gopro variant, Specificaly: 4K Action Camera, to do some (amazing) clips on my motorcycle. Since this is a NO Brand, Chinese GoPro Hero knockoff it has very sparing instructions, so typical of Chinese product. Of course if I go highside over the bars that would end my problem, with the camcorder on my helmet hahhahaha
The camera itself seem well made and has four modes of recording. right up to HD 4K, 1050P at 60fps wifi etc. The resolution on this thing is at 16mp almost as good as my 5100 dslr, albeit its widdddde angle so it would require considerable cropping to use the still images as it does take them too. In other words this thing seems to be loaded with features but is short on instructions.
Just wondering if anyone else got this camera or a similar one.

I should point out that I am a Video *Klotz* and have few hundred feet of super8 regular8, to prove it. Like I got quite few feet of my shoes and shoe laces where I forgot to turn the dam thing off whole proudly dangling my (video camera) from my neck. You can say, not fit for Hollywood yet, but maybe just Woods.....

Look online for directions on how to use the GoPro, and the directions will probably be similar. One thing I don't like about those cameras is the way you have to control them - just a couple of buttons.

Better yet, here are a lot of links for using the exact camera you have.

https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+use+the+4k+action+camera&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS716US717&oq=how+to+use+the+4k+action&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0.5421j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It's a shame that the knock-offs have virtually put GoPro out of business, but if he had been selling them at a reasonable price, he could have flooded the market, making knock-offs unnecessary.

Thank You Jerry!

You came trough like trooper, with a good tips. I agree with you on the measly control options. In this one case its only 4 buttons to the whole thing. My problem with it is that it is not simple Start Recording/Stop Recording. Well at leas thats my main beef at this point in time.

FWIW: I looked at GoPro a few (3 or 4?) years ago and wasn't impressed and bought a Garmin Virb (no longer made). I've used it a lot, especially in time-lapse mode on road trips. Seems much better made than a GoPro and has a screen on it. I'm sure the latest from Garmin are even better.
