For intelligent people nothing will make trump look good. They will do just fine without trump being at the summit. If he goes he will just make a fool of himself and then take all the credit for a successful summit. What an ass.

I find it very curious that you are slamming Trump for an event the has yet to happen, There may not even be a meeting with Kim. I don't know what will happen, and if it does will the result be good or bad. Apparently you do know, and somehow you also know it will be a failure. I wish I had your ability to see into the future.

Speaking of asses, seems you know little of history, Obama did nothing because he felt the challenge was to great, "North Korea will be your biggest challenge" he told Trump during t***sition, now Trump has them at the table and the 50 year war is ending... I firmly believe and credit Trump for achieving what no other president has been able to do in over 60 years... to get North Korea to agree with South Korea to end the war. He scared the hell out of me by the methods he employed but the result is a true achievement.
However, he needs to be very careful. He is going into this planned meeting without prior State Department background information (many long term analysts left the Dept). Furthermore his Ambassador was only appointed last week and does not have prior Korean experience.
Kim is a psychopath but he’s not stupid or inexperienced. Kim was summoned to Peking to discuss plans. Trump has to be careful not to be upstaged by Kim as Pence was during the Olympics. It is possible that Kim could win the PR war as a result of his announcements and policy shifts because Kim is pushing for a Korean relationship change while Trump continues to brandish weapons.
I don’t trust Kim for one second but I don’t think Trump is prepared for the challenge he will face. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

Trump will have Pompeo at his side as well as Bolton, believe me, both are very well studied and familiar with North Korea, personally Bolton scares me a little bit because my experience in watching him over the years he seems to believe that every international problem can be solved by the deployment of our military or installation of missile systems... Trump will not follow him down that path but believe me, Trump will be well informed throughout the negotiations with those two at his side. Forget about all the negativity surrounding Pompeo through his confirmation, that was all political garbage and Trump resistance, Pompeo is one smart cookie and given his most recent position in our government there can hardly be anyone more knowledgeable than he in all matters N. Korea.
