I'll have to try that myself, trackmag... and a fighter plane, too! Thanks for looking in!

Got to ride in a B24 last month. Experience of a lifetime. There's a deal this summer where you can actually fly one.
Need to check my wallet. The little ride we had in Dallas was fairly expensive . . . but worth it.

Good information- THANKS!

Actually, that is a Northrup T-38 Talon. While the T-38 and the F-5 share a common airframe, they are very different aircraft. The T-38 became the first Air Force supersonic trainer, the F-5 was designated to be one of the first fighters slated for export. Believe it or not, the F-5 had very similar flight characteristics to the F-16 at about 20 percent of the cost.

There's a song, somewhere, about "well wasted time"... which tangles up in my head with a conversation with a success potter. The potter, in his earlier years, was criticized for playing too long with the clay before actually getting down to the business of making something. In response, he suggested that the energy expended into the clay would later manifest during the creation process and that, in truth, no energy or time was actually wasted... like practice swings, warm ups and foreplay... Paperwork, however, is indeed wasted time... unless the data/information proves useful. THanks Bob!!

A few moments to waste??? You apparently put those few moments to very good use. Have fun with the paperwork.

Thank you carlysue! There seems to be more paperwork than circumstances where paperwork is useful: paperwork to document that paperwork occurred... Oh, well... I get to goof off and get paid, too! (have documents to prove it!)

"Realistic" training is a trainer's goal! Hope when they moved, they patched up Main Street's pot holes!

I lived in Northern Maine when Loring AFB was still active.....they seem to like to use our Main Street for bomb runs (or so it seemed)!

Great shots,

Shreveport and Bossier City Louisiana are great places to visit and live. Barksdale has a lot to offer in the way of planes and the 8th Air Force museum. Not to mention one of the best air show and open house you will ever experience during "Holiday in Dixie".

I was raised in Shreveport, but now a transplant to Michigan.

Sounds like a great way to spend a few hours! If they ever offer me the opportunity..... will post photos!

Thanks Skate!

The second aircraft is a T-38 from Vance AFB, OK. During the Air Force undergraduate pilot training program the students will fly an “out and back” training sortie to Barksdale AFB and back to Vance AFB for training.

Funny how people get attached- both individually and generally- to inanimate objects... I suppose it stems from the degree of "trust" invested en an event or action, it will occur as expected and we will be safe. I gotta say... EVERYBODY working on/with/in/for and beside these aircraft, has my respect...
