Yes, the BUFFS are pretty common place along with the occasional B-1B and B-2.. I miss seeing the A-10’s, though. I always consider the sound of the Big Birds coming and going as the Sound Of Liberty. God bless ‘em!

As far as bases go- Barksdale is certainly one of the better looking places. Though, some are of the opinion the Air Force spends their money on looks, the Army on weapons and the Navy on penicillin...

A-10's are special... unmistakable looks, distinctive sound and downright awesome... just don't be in front of one. Really liked watching them in Alaska (mid 1990's) and the pilots seemed to like flying the mountains... good times.

Got to ride in a B24 last month. Experience of a lifetime. There's a deal this summer where you can actually fly one.
Need to check my wallet. The little ride we had in Dallas was fairly expensive . . . but worth it.

Actually, that is a Northrup T-38 Talon. While the T-38 and the F-5 share a common airframe, they are very different aircraft. The T-38 became the first Air Force supersonic trainer, the F-5 was designated to be one of the first fighters slated for export. Believe it or not, the F-5 had very similar flight characteristics to the F-16 at about 20 percent of the cost.

Having just watched “Fail-Safe” on TV, that BUFF (B 52) has an eerieness about it as it flys off. Great set though
