Still tryin to learn how to use this little hummer. I set up "Photo Shooting Menu Bank A" to handle what I would call "normal shots." I set up Bank D for situations where I want to shoot HDR images. These work fine, holding all the settings I programmed in. But when I set Menu Bank C (or B) with settings for shooting Multiple Exposures, the camera RESETS Menu Bank A (my Normal shot settings) to shoot multiple exposures, too. If I reset Bank A for single exposures, then when I switch over to Bank C, I find that it has also been reset to single exposures. Aren't these Banks supposed to be independent of one another?

Steve to the rescue.
Not this time, tho he did PM me. Not a feature he uses or has experience with.
For years I've read Ken Rockwell "bitch" about Nikon not putting U1 and U2 buttons on all their cameras, as they did on the D7000 in 2010. I figured that these Menu Banks were the next best thing, if I can just get them to hold the settings I input into each Bank independent of what I do in the other Banks. I have sent this question to Nikon and am waiting for their response. Just hoped that one of our fellow Hogs might have some experience with this.
For anyone else who is curious about this situation, I received a response from Nikon Support. Apparently, even though the literature says that changing a setting in one Menu Bank will not affect the same setting in any of the others, this turns out not to be so. I checked my D800, Df, and D850 in this situation and, yes, turning Multiple Exposure on/off in any one of the banks will make each of these cameras automatically change the ME setting in ALL of the other banks to make them all the same. I suggested a downloadable firmware patch but I doubt any will be forthcoming.
Oh, well....
