I went to Best Buy and sampled the mirrorless cameras, however not sure how the prints come out, they are small, eay to handle,, but how about the quality? can you compare with a dslr?

Be specific, which Mirroless and which dslr do you want to compare. The 80D and the cameras in the 5D line are all very different cameras.

Funny as there's been so much in this regard over past couple weeks. Just do a SEARCH on a subject like "mirrorless" and you'll get more info then you can deal with.

Mirrorless or DSLR has nothing to do with the quality of the prints. It only has to to do with what YOU find easiest to use.

But knowing which mirrorless and which DSLR you are comparing might provide some useful responses.

At this point quality mirrorless cameras are at parity to DSLRs. Specific cameras in each genre will have specific advantages and disadvantages to one another but, at this point, it's impossible to make any general statements like "mirrorless is better" or "dslrs are better". As several people have said, you've got to compare the specific cameras in light of the specific needs to figure out which is best and even then it will what's best for you.

DxOMark rates the Sony A7Riii at #4 with a score of 100. The Canon 5d III is at # 67 with a score of 81 - below the $500 Sony A6000 at #59.

If you can afford mirrorless, buy one over a DSLR. The industry has been trending in that direction.

EDIT:
But if you go with mirrorless, stick to the later models from Olympus, Panasonic, Sony, or Fuji (those were in no particular order).

A good read in general. Be careful to to cut and paste the entire link. The hyperlink stops at the comma.

I did an exhaustive multiday (literally probably 100 hours) search and compare recently using stats and comparing actual photos at different ISO values and also comparing the features using sites like dpreview and imaging-resource. I chose the top models from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, and Fujifilm to compare and Sony's line of mirrorless cameras came out on top in almost every category, particularly the A7 iii and the A7r iii.

Actually go hold one, and navigate their menu system for a while...then let us know if you feel the same. Reviews can only show you so much.

I did actually go hold an A7r ii which shares a nearly identical form factor with the two I mentioned and I loved the feel of it. Yes, one of the downsides to Sony is the some find the menus confusing (I own two Sony's so I'm used to that); also choice of native lenses is limited. But if you want the best image quality, the two Sony's I mentioned should be at the top of the list.

I do not have a Sony, but menu systems can be learned and eventually become automatic. I will eventually go mirrorless, but I am waiting to see what Canon does over the next year or so. If they do not step up their game significantly, I will probably go Sony. The adapter for Canon to Sony E-mount appears to work quite well by most reports.
