Hi group,
I did a search and didn't find the answer to this particular problem and wonder if any of you may have encountered it. I have 4 versions of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and all of the Image>Image Resize operations stopped resizing images. Let's say I'm changing an image from 300ppi to 96ppi. When I highlight the "300" and type "96" nothing happens, it stays "300." This happened after downloading Adobe DNG converter, so I "deleted" the DNG files in Windows. Normally I'd "uninstall" the program but I'll be darned if I can find it when accessing the uninstall section via the Control Panel (Windows 7). I'd appreciate any of your thoughts on fixing the mess. Thanks in advance for your ideas. Take care & ...

Unless you are interpolating to resize, the images will be no different at different resolutions.

I'm using the photos in e-books. Kindle wants them to be less the 128KB in file size. The process I use to accomplish that going from a 24 mp fine jpg file from a Nikon D750 is to first "resize for web" then use the Image>Image Resize menu selection to further reduce the size to 8" x 6" at 96ppi. When saved to 50% on the jpg "save menu" the file size is almost always less than 128KB. I don't know about you suggestion of "interpolation to resize" but I've done several thousand images using the above technique and every one has worked just fine untill the other day when I downloaded Adobe DNG Converter which I can't seem to uninstall through the Control Panel. Thanks for your comment. Take care & ...

Hi Group,
It's fixed and my thanks to Ed for getting me pointed in the right direction. I went to Elements 15 and used the "Guided Resize" per his suggestion and at first, it didn't work but I noticed that when I accidentally pressed the "up arrow" key the number changed in the resize menu. That was the clue, I had inadvertently turned off the number keypad. Simple solution but I got going in the wrong direction because I noticed the problem very soon after downloading a program and made a wrong assumption. Thanks to Gene & Ed for their suggestions. Take care & ...

When you resize to 8"x6" at 96 ppi all you are really doing is changing the pixel dimensions to 768x576, which seems rather low for an e-book if they're supposed to take up a full page.

These photos take up 1/4 to 1/6th page. Take care & ...
