Hi all this is my first post on the "Photo Analysis" section.I just purchased a Nikon d750 with a 24-120 f4 kit lense and I decided its maiden voyage would be a middle school play.Low light and no flash.I'm looking for some tough love from you guy's so I can improve and get the most out of this magnificent camera.I'm at your mercy! Thanking you in advance,Jusayen.

Looks to me like a very nice shot under tricky lighting conditions. Sorry, I know that was not being tough!

Terrible image...wrong exposure, soft, etc. Learn the camera!

Just kidding... very nice composition, color and overall impression. Keep it up and you'll be a star here!

Spot light is your friend (young man is well exposed). Use the spot light.
Consider trying to catch the subject when their head is up.
Focus on the eyes then, re-frame your image.
In this image, consider placing the young man in the right side of the image so he is "looking into the image".
I hope you have more!
Keep in mind, I'm just a snapshot guy....

Not a bad shot. You have gotten some good comments for ideas/improvements already. I have done theater work and with lighting and distance, it makes for unique challenges. I likely would not have chosen this moment in the show to take the photo. As already commented, the head up, the chance to see the eyes would be an improvement. I watch for the moment when the performer is really declaring something with the look on his face, the posture of his body, and then take the photo. I may be failing to describe it, but when you catch those... moments... you know it.

That moment will be what I’ll attempt to capture on my next visit to the theater. Thank you!
