I have a PIC on my desktop that I saved as a .jpg from the net. I dragged the Pic to my Photoshop Icon on my desktop and it opened up for editing. After editing it where does Photoshop save it? Back to my desktop? I really want it saved it LR Classic.

You can't really save a picture in LR, you need to save it in some folder or even keep on your desktop then open LR and import that folder to process in LR. After processing you can save a copy with your changes if you wish as a jpeg or whatever to wherever you want. Photoshop will let you save your work also with your changes but it changes the original unless you choose to save as a copy with a different file name.
Photoshop will save it in whatever folder you choose to save it in. If you want it in a folder used by LR, you first need to create the folder in LR. If you already have a folder you use in LR, find that folder when saving from Photoshop.

In order for an image to be cataloged in LR, someone must go through the import process. Once there, you can "Edit In" PS and when done, the edited image will be saved back to LR.

You are asking about a Mac system right?

Do you understand that NONE of your images are actually saved
in Lightroom? When you import images into Lightroom you can either leave the images where they are, or you can have Lightroom move or copy them to a different location you specify. In either case the Lightroom catalog only contains a pointer to the image's location, not the image itself. Many people erroneously believe that Lightroom actually stores images within itself, which is an incorrect assumption due to a lack of understanding about their computer's file management system. I find that MAC users seem to struggle more with this concept than PC users for whatever reason.
Thanks. I DO understand all that. 1 of my questions is I have a pic that's already in LR cat. I then LR bring it into Photoshop for editing and I want to add a football that I downloaded and placed on my desktop. I then opened that football in Photoshop and placed it into my Pic. Now when I click save in Photoshop, will the pic with the football in it show up in LR even if I delete the football image from my desktop? Will it still be part of my combined image or will the football be gone? I know it's confusing but that's the best explanation I can give....

I'm glad you understand, many people don't. Your comment about saving it
in Lightroom concerned me. If I understand you, you are sending the image to Photoshop from
within LR, correct? In that case, edit the transferred image in PF, save it and go back to Lightroom. Your updated image should be there. Do not select
Save As.
I just spotted this link which may help you. Despite the 2009 date in the link, it was updated in mid 2016.

Photoshop does not save anything, unless you tell it what to save and to which location to save!

Agree. Import image into LR first
To all, Lr requires pix to be 'Imported' into it's Catalog (database) - to keep track of the edits you make, keywords, ranking etc. but ¨he pic itself is in whichever folder from which you Import it. Pics do NOT live in the Catalog directory.
Understanding this is important if you move a pic fm it's original folder after it has been imported into your Lr database. Once moved fm it's originally imported directory Lr will NOT find the pic to further edit it -you must right-click on the image name in Lr's Library module & look fbr option to reset the logical pointer Lr has for the pic's locayion on your HD.
See Adobe help or YouTube for tutorials on how the Catalog works.
Good luck, Eli
