Taking my yearly trip to see my mom...packing for a film trip.

Taking my yearly trip to see my mom (87 years old this year) and the Olympus trip 35 is fed and ready!
I love packing for a trip with a film camera like this...no extra doohickys, no backup camera (thanks to Alan Smith's refurbishment handiwork none needed) just 12 rolls of film, a remote shutter release, and the Trip 35.

The bottom picture is off my bulk loader and the parent roll of double-x, those aren't going with me :)

Ha ha, movie film, bulk loaded. I was wondering, I did not think they sold Double-X film in 135-cassettes for many decades. Little did I realize Kodak still made the B&W Movie film.

I swore I'd never be a 'film snob.' But when we went back to visit my in-laws last year, I wound up bringing back my late mother-in-laws Yashica TLR. Not long after that, I now have four (4) film cameras - two 25mm's and two 120 medium formats. I'm loving my new (old) film cameras and now I suppose that bulk loaders and parent rolls aren't far behind.

Have fun, make good photos!

Yes, you are correct. The 60's and 70's were great times to own that stuff.

I am quite surprised as to why you pick the Trip 35 as your favorite.

Nice setup. Only thing really missing is a little flash unit for your camera! As I'm sure you know, flashes are not just for night photography.

Yes. it's cheaper to buy it through them directly. After shipping a 400' roll is $280.00 which comes out to $70.00 per normal 100' roll which is about like the price for HP5. I like the way this looks better than HP5 that's why I use it.

It might take a few weeks but I certainly will.

I have a 120 holga Ultrawide pinhole that I don't use.

I guess I'm a creature of habit

Well..it's the best camera I've ever owned! I've owned some pretty expensive and desirable cameras but the trip just floats my boat. I love the fact that I don't have to focus it, it's light and has no bells or whistles. It just does what it does and it does it beautifully.

I do have a few Nikons for those times when I need something that the trip won't supply but that's not very often.

I generally don't use it. Not because I have anything against it or that I'm not good with it but in situations where there isn't enough light, I just choose to either bring my Nikkormat and slow the shutter down or just don't take pictures. :)

I do have a nice little swivel head flash that I use occasionally though but for this trip, I'm traveling light. Anything I don't absolutely need isn't going. Not even a backup camera.
