Very nice! Are the tress with purple blossoms Jacarandas? I have seen them in Hawaii and believe they are stunning when in bloom.

Thank you, Greg, South Africa is my home but I'm living presently in Switzerland, and have many pics from many places... will search out some.

Yes, those are Jacarandas - in Pretoria, South Africa's capital, they bloom all over the city (whole long streets of just purple) for a couple of weeks each September or so. It's always a breathtaking display.

I am off to South Africa on 20 Sept and will be visiting the park at the end of the cape. Can't wait to burn up my cameras. I am only taking 2 but lots of extra batteries and cards

Lucky dog you are! Can't wait to see some of your pics. I always wanted to go there for the scenery and beauty but have never been comfortable with the political tension and race issues.
