B&W Tunnel View - Yosemite

This is another photo I took on my trip to Yosemite yesterday. I didn't really like it in color, so I converted to black and white and tweaked some levels and I think it works better like this:

Nice shots and I agree that there is something about Yosemite valley that lends itself to B & W. If someone agrees with the premise, is there an explanation why?

I agree with you and I think there is an interesting contrast between vegetation/trees, rock, and water that makes it all work in black and white

I've been a fan of his work ever since I was a kid. I grew up with Ansel Adams prints hanging around the house. My editing style with B&W is heavily influenced by his work

The b&w looks like a photograph while the color version looks like a painting. Both are nice.

Funny, that was the first thing that crossed my mind, but it's the same with color Fotos I take in northern Idaho and western Montana the B&W/greyscale seem much more interesting. Maybe I am influenced by Nellie Stockbridge, an early 20th century photographer from Wallace, Idaho. Or perhaps her mentor T.N.Barnard, whose photographs I admire most.

B/W for me is symplistic an a natural look for Yosemite.
