Yet here you are. Wasting your time. Do you think the usage of "some newbie" is a little pompous and arrogant?

Canon's Dig Photo Pro, Faststone Image viewer mostly now. Had LR for years but when they went cloud, I did also. I'm playing with some other free bee's but nothing exciting yet.

I use Graphic Converter, which can't handle RAW, and PhotoStudio (the latter for RAW only). I am moving to Luminar. Graphic Converter does a lot of things well in jpeg, but as I want more control, using RAW, it is losing its value. GC also has a few interesting quirks. It was a good starter program, but has not grown to fit my current needs.
.

I use Zoner Photo Studio and have been doing so for many years, like all PP software there is a learning curve but it's much easier than most.
You can try it free for 30 days, why not try it out.

Photoshop for Everything! One trick pony.

I know you don't want reasons, but you really have to separate out the tasks these are used for.

For raw conversion:

Lightroom (every image)
DXO PhotoLab
On1 Raw
Capture One (every image from my Sony camera)

For photofinshing (you can't really do finishing work with just raw conversion, but you can get some really good proofs):

On1 Effects
Photoshop
Nik Collection

For restoration and high quality retouching:

Photoshop - it's the best tool out there for this type of work
I know you don't want reasons, but you really have... (show quote)

I use Corel Paintshop. LR seems to be the favored program on his forum. I thought it might be interesting to tabulate preferred editors without going into all the various reasons for making that selection. If this has already been done recently, let me know. I probably overlooked it in 'Search'. Thanks.
