Pixel count of photographs on this form.
Not sure if I have posted this to the correct section.
I is my understanding that pictures posted here are converted to 800x600 pixel count. However, I frequently see pictures on here which take up my entire monitor
screen. A download showes that the pixel count is more than the restricted size.
I like pictures that take up my entire 21 inch monitor. What procedure do I follow to get my picture to show up in the larger size?

What size is your monitor, in pixels? (eg 1920x1080)
The UHH site creates 600-pixel wide thumbnails of attachments, for any attached image "wider" than 600px, regardless of the file size of the attachment. Give this a post a read to help with sizing images
as attachments to UHH that when opened, will fill most screen types.
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-512745-1.html - Recommended resizing parameters for digital images
Regarding "large" images directly with the UHH pages but not using the attachment approach, this is done by adding URL links to other sites where the image can be sized as large as 1600-pixels, both filling the UHH page and your 21-inch monitor. That "linking" typically points to Flickr where Flickr will generate the URL code you just have to paste as text into your UHH comment.
I never size images I post on the UHH. UHH resized them automatically.

Can you provide a link to a post that has large picture?

Are you checking store original when you upload your pics. I am having a hard time understanding your question, I have never increased resolution to post on this site yet I have downsampled many pics and even after down sampling they will still fill the screen when downloaded and expanded.
Now that is the kind of picture I was talking about. How did you do that?

Chg Canon provided the answer earlier in your thread: it has to do with linking photos from another site such as Flickr.
Old Hippy is another who does that:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-525636-1.htmlNote that beside his (relatively large) photo is the Flickr info. If you upload
directly to UHH, your thumbnail will be just 600 pixels wide. Click the "store original" box beside the upload button and people can view your file as large as you'd like
I see that you have already presented photos that way in several of your topics; it does require a viewer to click the "download" link to view larger, but that is the only option on this site other than linking from another site such as Flickr.

You simply type [ img ](link to your photo)[ /img ], removing the spaces around the brackets.
LOL, I thought I was the only one with that problem
