I will be in Sequoia for a couple days next month. Does anyone have any suggestions for photo locations?

Shooting redwoods, Sequoias is very difficult because of the the extreme contrast from deep shadow and bright sunlight.
Hope for fog or overcast. I think for most situation HDR would be mandatory. Just speaking from past experience. No good shots of them in my portfolio.
You might consider very early morning or tripod shots just after sun dips behind the hills.
Moro Rock, is one. Lots of steps to the top.
Not for the faint of heart.

True, but it is an easy walk if you take your time or are in shape.
Great views along the way and especially from the top!
Just pick a good morning for photographs before walking up all those steps so the effort is worthwhile.

How'd I EVER miss knowing about this place! Thanks for posting. I have to plan a trip there soon.
Hmm, I don't know how you got from Sequoia all the way west to Moro Bay, unless there is another Moro Rock in the Sequoias. heh. But if you are in the Sequoias and Kings canyon, you are at the base of Highway 49 and gold country. You can follow 49 all the way through gold rush country to above hwy 80 north of LAke Tahoe. Lots of picture taking in these old small towns in the foothills of the Sierra.
If you do wind up on the west end of the state, Moro Bay to Cambria is a wonderful area of Ca. Outside Moro Bay is Los Osos which you go through to get to Montana De Oro state park. Coincidentally, George Lepp holds his photo workshops in Los Osos. My wife and I have been going to this area for twenty give years, maybe three times a year.

It is definitely in Sequoia National Park. It's about 400 stair-steps to this point, give or take a few. Absolutely worth the effort!

Ah yes, I would be thinking of Morro Bay and Morro Rock.
The rock seems to be tipping.

Try shooting the base of the trunks and underlying ferns and floor foliage.
This is the best I could do.
