Was in VA on a job and took my wife with me as usual.
I have always loved the Iowa class battleships and as a youth built several models of them.
This was my first time actually seeing one in person and what a beautiful ship.
I had to include my beautiful and sweet wife in one of the photos.
Comments can be made, I will only pay attention to the wonderful platitudes and ignore the negative ones.
It was a lot of fun on that trip and many happy memories.
Thank you for looking if you do as it is fun sharing this with you.
Perhaps some of you know more about this ship and inside information would be fun for us to know.
You have some winners here -- very dramatic.
If ever near Los Angeles, California, check out the USS Iowa (BB-61) docked as a floating museum at the Port of Los Angeles.
Type "USS Iowa" in your browser, and you should see this ship come up in a listing that includes a write-up in Wikipedia.

I sure will, Thank you.
I will likely see the New Jersey this summer as it is near Philadelphia and I see it from the bridge frequently but have places to go that keep me from stopping.
Nice shots. Those were the glory years of the US Navy. Big ship, big guns, big crew. And fearless on the high seas. As mentioned, the USS Iowa is in the Los Angeles area. I'm interested in seeing it now.
No 2 bow-on is an extremely interesting view. Not seen often & doesn't lend a clue as to what's behind it. Just a neat angle.
Nice perspective of a great ship
I love these shots. Great POV.
