No damage in our neighborhood but severe flooding, etc in other places here and in MS. Stay safe!

Glad to hear that, Donna... I won't have any trouble either since I'm in the middle of the island and not in flood zones and our wiring is underground, so we're usually safe. I was supposed to meet my sister in law tomorrow, but I think I'm cancelling that!

No 1 I like the depth as you see into the flower. Contrasting colors are saturated properly even though mostly in the shade. Great job.

No 2 has the lensbaby do what it does best, velvety blur. Perfect f/stop for this shot. Love it.

No 3 Hmmm My first thought is you should try and open up some shadows, but as I opened in Photoshop, using camera raw, I decreased the contrast, that worked better. It helped showing a bit more bottom of the flowers giving it more depth.

Thanks, Jim, for your comments and glad you liked. With #2, I think I shot with either f2 or f2.8... but I also added an effect in Elements.
If you want to post what you did in #3 on here, that would be great, because I know I won't play with it again and I like to see what you did.

Beautiful, Angela! I love the crisp detail of the first and also, the soft dreamy feel of 2.

Thanks, Carol, for your lovely comments and glad you liked! Even though I used the Velvet on all of them, I added an effect on #2 in Elements.

Attached is my edit. After looking at them side by side probably not worth the effort. I lowered the contrast on just the buds using a mask. I then added a small amount of black vignette to draw additional attention to the flowers.

Angela, excellent photos and color. I love the contrast of the purple to the orange. Very dramatic.

The flowers do look a little brighter and there is a little more detail in the leaves... thanks for your work, Jim.

Thanks, Johhny, for the kind words and thumbs for #1... I've been using the helios this past weekend, still haven't captured any bokeh with it... guess I wasn't hitting the sun the right way.
