Help deciding which barn picture to enter

I have entered several, closer to many pictures in our county fair.
The judging can be a bit strange at times but we have fun.
I have two pictures I am trying to decide between for the building category.
I like the one with the sunset in the background best, but I am not sure if the subject is the barn or the sunset. Which would you choose for this category?

The barn. I likethe composition of the first but it looks like it is over-processed or something. Also looks like tar is dripping off the roof of the left building and all of the black washed out of the tree in front of it. JMO.

Your right about the blown out sky in #2, maybe it is just time to go back to the drawing board. I have lots of other barn pictures. I just liked the lighting on the barn in the second and the sunset on the first. But maybe I can do better.

The only thing in doubt on the 1st photo is there is no light in the old house, they are both very good, I like the light on the barn, looks like a working farm...best of luck...

#1 definitely. It's very striking.

No house in # 1 it is an old granary. They are my daughter's and we have joked about remodeling it into a mother-in-law house for me when I get old. I don't even know if it has a light. :-P
