I have never yet found an app (prefer Mac) which can batch output my Sony raw files to maximum or near maximum quality JPG's using the camera settings.
There are numerous solutions at lower quality and, of course, I could shoot "raw + jpg". The in-camera solution wastes too much time and memory-card space. The apps that just show the embedded jpg are not satisfactory.
Speed would be nice but my primary goal is the quality. I would only use it for the ones that I first select with FastRawViewer.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, UHHers.

Adobe camera raw.
Does not appear to be a free standing application, only a plug-in for some Adobe products. Am I missing something?

Adobe DNG Converter. Seems to be free standing and free as well.

If you want Maximum quality why are we talking about JPGs? If you are using Raw (therefore I might assume you do processes them as you must), learn how to judge them with out a camera jpg reference. Imagine the old days choosing which negative to try printing. That too can be done with practice.

Mine only outputs .dng. Am I missing something?

Just shoot JPEG then and use your camera's highest quality settings. ACR needs to export the file to some other format before you can do anything with it. It's been explained to me that ACR is like producing a film negative, then you have to do additional processing to get a positive.

Good thoughts but you are not granting me the assumption that I know what I'm doing. I would not be using FRV if I did not already understand your point about judging the actual image.

Not a good solution in SO MANY WAYS.
Not even what I asked for.
Consider that the capacity of memory cards for DSLR cameras has increased substantially while the cost of cards has dropped to affordability. Your stated option of shooting in the RAW+JPEG file format mode appears like the simplest solution to your concern given lower card prices.

Yes, in the absence of a solution that meets my criteria, it would be. I don't want either the clutter or the consumption of camera resources during shooting. Also, for Sony, the jpg quality when shooting both at once is lower than the maximum jpg quality when shooting jpg only and at maximum quality.
To quote "Queen", I want it all.
Photoshop Elements 2018, under File -> Process Multiple Files. Output of .jpg in same size as original raw.
Faststone, under Tools -> Open Batch Convert/Rename Dialog. Output of .jpg can be much larger than original raw.
You don't say what photo editing program you use, it's entirely possible that you can already convert your raw files with what you have.

Lightroom does this, but of course is not free-standing, which I think you commented on in another thread here. Affinity most likely will do this as well. ON1 will most likely do this, too. In fact, most to the higher end programs should be designed to do this. It could be more about your lack of understanding of a program than the program itself. I cannot image a program that has no mass export capability of high quality JPEG images. I do use a Mac; you might also try looking through the programs offered on the Apple store to see if they have something you like.
