1st photo: The Painted Desert in Arizona. Nikon kit lens, 18-55mm. 36mm, f/10, 1/400, iso 200.
2nd photo: Sedona, Arizona. I think this is The Courthouse. Nikon 55-200mm. 66mm, f/6.3, 1/640, iso 200.
at f 6.3 you are a little soft focus in closer areas. Best f stop for scene shots is as high as the camera lens can go. Usually around f 16 or better. Since scene shots are best from tripod slow the shutter and then if needed raise the ISO to get a 1/60 sec around f 16 or higher F stop. Take the camera off auto ISO to achieve this.
rdubreuil, I'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that it might be "The Painted Desert" and "Sedona". Both of these are in Az. My first guess is that you didn't read the text accompanying the photographs. My second guess is that these look rather nice. --Bob

No, actually I was expecting a question by the OP to go along with the images. I followed the link from the initial e-mail landing screen under up coming topics and didn't realize it originated from the photo gallery but rather I'd thought it was the main photography discussion section.

Alas, this existing member Azboy has failed one of the basic rules applicable to all but a few specific section in UHH, specifically:
Do not hijack topics by posting your pictures inside someone else's topic in a manner that would divert the discussion away from the original poster's pictures. In such situation, it's best to start a new topic and post your pictures there. It is OK to post pictures when explicitly invited by the OP or when posting pictures inside an existing topic would genuinely benefit that particular discussion.
