Time Out:
I shot this at Independence Park in Philadelphia Saturday 10 8 11. The focus was a little off but I liked the composition so much that I tried to save it by running the photo through Virtual Painter.

I'd say it was a success!
That's what I love about the special effects these, days... they help save shots that have sentimental value or maybe just the slightest flaw to an otherwise great shot.

You did a fine job here :)

P.S.
This photo reminds me of someone dear to me, whom I lost about a year ago. Bittersweet....

If one of the tenets of an excellent photograph is the emotion it evokes in the viewer, you have captured an excellent image...I have cried ever since I viewed it the first time...It is so like my beloved Pa Ang praying at the end of the front row slatted Church Pew in the country Church I always attended when at their home...way down in the Piney Woods of SouthEast Texas..an image in my memories brought to life again by this photo...Thank You very much....Linda Morton Oh and may I down load and save this pic to look at when ever I want...I would gladly buy a copy from you....L

i too love the emotional impact of that shot as well as use the technique of saving soft focus photos that i like and editing them with pse2 yes 2 i am a dinosaur. i use either the watercolor, oil painting,or colored pencils filters to produce a softer effect to where people don't notice its out of focus. Why Yes I intended that effect all along, its not a mistake * nose grows like pinochio* in tildese.

mortonfarm ive been meaning to tell you that i love your avatar photo. It makes me think of The Great Gatsby and that you are some 1920's heiress sumering in the hamptons.

Hi Mortonfarm,

I can't, in my right mind to charge you for an image that means so much to you. Therefore, I can email you the original image or I can print an 8x10 image and send you the print.

Thanks,
rs

i too love the emotional impact of that shot as we... (show quote)

Why Sinatraman...Thanks for the compliment...That was one of my few attempts at decent self portraiture...I was getting ready for an Eastern Star function and just picked up the camera, struck a pose and snapped into the mirror...I was surprized...! and...I could sure summer in the Hamptons if such a thing is still done...A photo experience in overdrive...! I also never thought to do those things you mentioned to a slightly blurry photo to save it...( I have plenty of those..!) Thanks for the ideas...and I think Tilde is just a riot...her personality keeps me laughing...I call it "Tilde Speak"..! Linda
