We're taking the City of New Orleans to NOLA overnight... 3 days of French Quarter Fest and then 5 days of seeing the sites. This is my 4th year and there are always great pics when it's over.

Any suggestions for something we may have missed? We're staying in the Quarter with no vehicle. Might do another swamp tour.

or... if anyone wants to meet for food or beverages I'm certain to be available sometime.

As they say in southern France,,, "Au revoir y'all!"

Try the WWII museum. If you enjoy history at all it will be well worth your time.

We did a day there last year. Def a possibility.
Thanks!

I've sold pics from NOLA on stock sites pretty well... bands, architecture, wildlife. My biz card features my g/f appearing lost in front of a pretty colorful stucco wall. Lots to work with there.

Take to street car to the garden district. Lots of grand old homes. Enjoy a hurricane at Pat OBrians.

Make sure you do the beignets at the city market and get a moustafa from the Grocery Store. Definitely try their red coffee with chicory--it's an interesting drink. Also go to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, but get there early for a seat.

Try Bayonna Resturant for dinner in the French Quarter. Susan Spicer is a terrific chef. Photos: The moonwalk at night especially if there is fog. The French market. The docks.

The Crescent City Connection bridge that spans over the Mississippi River, connecting downtown New Orleans to the Westbank. It's beautiful at dusk/sundown.

Think about what pictures you might need to take to tell the story of the French Quarter Fest.

We were there last June and really enjoyed the swamp tour we took through Cajun Encounters. They picked us up at our hotel at 8am and had us back around 2pm. My only swamp tour, so I don't know how it compares, but I thought it was well worth the time and money. Another highlight was the "Double Plantation Tour Bus" to Whitney and Oak Alley Plantations. Whitney states that they are the only plantation that attempts to present plantation life through the eyes of the slaves, and was very educational. Oak Alley was the traditional tour through the eyes of the plantation owners, but the plantation itself was quite beautiful.

Our two favorite dinners were at Cochon Restaurant (930 Tchoupitoulas Street) and Galliano Restaurant (200 Julia Street). Our hotel was at the convention center and these were both within walking distance.

If you like aquariums, the Audubon aquarium was pretty good. We spent 3 hours there and I got some great pictures. We didn't do the World War II museum, but heard several people rave about it.

Have a great trip!
