About a week ago, I commented on a photo in the Photo Gallery. Now, anytime someone else comments on it, I get an email from UHH with their new comment. How do I stop this ? I've tried various methods to no avail! Thanks in advance.

You do not have to unwatch to stop the emails.

On your first comment back to you go to the top of the page and in blue lettering you will see the words in blue "Unwatch," click it and you won't get anymore notices. You might have to go to the top of the original page (pg 1) to see the words Unwatch.

Unwatch is one method for a specific topic. But, maybe an idea has occurred to you about all emails? If you have activity on any of your posts, that can be determined by signing into UHH and visiting the "Watched Topics" view. If bold as in Watched Topics, this visual cue indicates at least one topic you've created or commented has new activity. You can use this method in conjunction with visiting your profile and removing the request for emails on all activity. See link "My Profile" and scroll down to the section shown below.

Right above the post when you look at it, on the left side, it will probably say: Unwatch.
Click on that. Unfortunately you'll have to do that for every post you receive mail for.

Also, go to your profile, scroll down a bit, and under Notification Settings, if it is checked, uncheck:
"Send e-mail notification when I receive a new reply in a topic"
That should do the trick.

You can also scroll down to the very bottom of the Profile page, to Backend settings, and check "don't automatically watch topics when replying."

For every change you want to make, read the explanation of that change.
Don't forget to click "update setting" or else nothing will change.

OK, do you just want to stop following that thread or stop e-mails about posts all together?
If just that thread then the "unwatch" is the way to go.

If all e-mails about posts then:
1. at top of page click "My Profile"
2. on the page that opens scroll down past
a. Subscibed Sections
b. Your Statistics
c. Contact Information
To:
d. Notification Settings, under this you can check or not check one of two settings
1. Send e-mail notification when I receive a new private message
2. Send e-mail notification when I receive a new reply in a topic

Make sure they are checked the way you want. I only get notification for private messages.
You can still follow threads you are interested in with the "watch" "unwatch" commands on each message.

Scroll way down to the bottom of "My Profile" page selections to
"Backend Settings" where you have two choices:
a. Use short format for reply e-mail notifications. This will make your posts easier for reading on smart phones and other small screens.
b. Don't automatically watch topics when replying If left unchecked then all threads you reply to will be on your "Watch" list. You can manually
"Unwatch" a thread. If you check it than they will not go on your "Watch" list but again you can manually set them for your watch list.

Many thanks for your detailed reply. I only wanted to stop receiving other people's comments to a photo I had already replied to so yes, clicking "unwatch" on the original post of the photo seems to have done the trick. Now, under your d1 and d2, you refer to "a new private message" and "a new reply to a topic." I wish you could explain the difference between the two. It has me baffled! Many thanks!

Reply to a topic is a reply posted on a thread and everyone can see it.
Private Message is a one on one message that appears under "Private Messages" up top between "My Profile" and "Logout (your user name)" in the middle line of choices at the top of the page.
I just sent you a test PM to show your, only you and I can see it (well probably Admin & the NSA )
