Two school districts in PA came up with a solution for school shootings that doesn't involve arming teachers with guns. Give them sticks and stones.

Having been married to an elementary school teacher for 42 years now and knowing many teachers (including my mother), let me just say most teachers don't want guns and like most segments of society, the ones who do want to be armed are the ones who really shouldn't be packing!
What could possibly go wrong? Really Stupid Idea, on so many levels.

Why liberals despise Israel
- where teachers and other citizenry carry AR-15’s.
- where it’s mandatory that young people serve in the military and they are armed 24/7.
- where they don’t over medicate.
- where the murder rate for the whole country is a fraction of what it is in Nashville, Tennessee.
- where parents teach respect and values instead of letting Disney and X-Box raise their children,

I am a firm believer in the saying that "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun! However, since we can and do make all the stupid, knee jerk reaction type, statements and unenforceable laws without thinking them through, but will never really remove guns from the equation (it's impossible), then maybe "sticks and stones" are at least a step in the right direction. Maybe, just maybe, they are beginning to realize that it's better to fight back then coward, hide, and run. Making our schools less of a soft target is the real priority and if passing out rocks helps in any way then I say go for it!

The point that most folks miss is that you do the math, i.e. the number of students and instructors in school at any given time vs the number k**led by fire arms, the chances of being k**led by a firearm while in school is extremely low.
If you then stir into that mix of people an estimated 600,000 to 1,000,000 firearms, the chances of more people being k**led by gun shot goes up!

See my comment on the statistics of this above instead of mouthing off without understanding what your talking about.
Regardless of what you think its still a really stupid idea to pour 600,000 to 1,000,000 firearms into schools including K-12 and colleges/universities. More people will be k**led and injured by that than are k**led in school shootings now.
If there were no guns no one would be k**led with guns.
