I am new to drones as they are used in real estate photography the questions are:
1. What drone specs, or recommendations, do I need to adequately display images in the real-estate world, without spending a bunch of $?
2. What are the restrictions or laws pertaining to drone images which might also show all or parts of neighboring homes next to, or near, the home being photographed?
Thanks for any help, Frank
Are you doing these for a realtor?

Get a part 107 drone operators certificate from FAA second.
Line up work from realtor first

Thanks for your response.
Yes I’m going to do this for a realtor.
He is concerned about the possibility of a neighbor sueing if my drone images showing her/him in the back yard.

I know that in Illinois you have to get a property release from any other property owners around the site. You also have to have a part 107 certificate.
By getting a release from the surrounding owners, you put them on notice of when you are going to be flying for say an hour, plus if their property shows in the photo, and it is published online commercially, they can sue. So get the 107 cert and a property release from all neighboring homeowners. Now if this is very rural property and no neighbors within say 1/2 mile, you would not need the release because there is no chance of their property showing in the video and you would not be flying over or near their property.

That might be difficult to do. Unless you just get a realtor to say for you to come back after you get the certificate and we will talk.
Most realtors will not be able to line up work because if they have a listing, they want to publish it tomorrow and they won't hold the listing until you get the 107 and can fly commercially.
The 107 requires about 40 hours of study and $150.00 each time you take the test. If you take any professional training, the cost they charge can vary.
David, Thanks again, that clears up my questions.
