Wax off .... finally... Wax ON!
Cedar waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum)
W. Kentucky, USA - 4/10/2018
No sunshine this morning, combined with a dull grey sky made photography challenging. I've been hunting for Cedar Waxwings for two years and this morning I had the good fortune to find a small flock of eight beautiful Waxwings, feeding on some kind of small tree berry.
PS - After a bit of research I have been told the Waxwings are eating Smilax sp, or in lay terms, the berries of the Sarsaparilla root. In this case, growing alongside a Bald Cypress slough.
Congrats yes they are difficult subjects to shoot ,they don't sit still very often ,nice shot
