This IS a fun pic. It if were mine, I'd cut off the left side to just before the metal thing holding up the right perch and leave all that space on the right side. I'd also play with contrast to make the colors pop a bit more. Love the potential of this image!!!

I had to search a bit to find the bird. When I did, the whole thing made sense. Like you said, this one is just plain fun.
