Time to wrap this thing up. These last images I want to share all caught me by surprise. Having never seen these places personally before, I really didn't know what I would find.
First; I suspect that every landscape photographer is familiar with Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ. I thought I was. Every shot I had seen of it showed good tonal range and detail. But when I arrived near sun-up on the only day I could visit, I found the tonal range to be impossible. I did what I could with it.
Second' Goosenecks State Park. I had thought that I'd be OK with a 17mm focal length on my FF camera. When I got there, I was really sorry not to have my 12-24mm with me.
Finally; Wilson Arch. 24miles south of Moab on my way to Monument Valley, I came upon the arch just off Rt191. There had been an over night snow storm and the setting was magical.
Very nicely done. You can't always have the optimum lighting when you visit somewhere, and you did admirably with what you had to work with. I love seeing Wilson Arch with snow on it. The snow really makes it stand out.
Snow looks great. Stitching time 😉
Fantastic...love them all.

Wow, AuntieM. Thanks again for your very kind words. Yes, when I left Moab there wasn't any snow in sight. Caught up with it just a couple miles before I saw the arch. Just looked up and said "Thank-you."

Thanks, timm. It's nice to get lucky like that now and again.
