The last time I was sure I had these coming to my feeders was summer 2016.
This morning I saw one going from perch to perch, checked out the black oil sunflower seed feeder rested on the swing set/play house/fort ladder for a short time and left. Then later came back for a few seconds and I may have seen a female but it was on the feeder in the deep shade and left before I could get the camera on her.
I got two frames of the male through the double pane glass door, one totally out of focus then while I reached to slide the door open he took off.
Now I have another target to get better pictures of in the yard this summer.
Really bad picture, noise very bad, too much range of light from the retaining wall and grass being over exposed in the background to the bird in shade and under exposed.
#1 OOC
#2 the best I could do with LR and PS in a rushed job.
My camera and lens requested I not give info because they are too embarrassed to associated with this.
Well the technical stuff might not be what you wanted but that is one beautiful bird.

Yes and I have hooded orioles coming to my yard also. So a fair supply of orange and black birds.
Ya can't have everything. Don't be too picky. At least, you got a beautiful bird and you have proof and enough detail for id.
Wish we had them.

Thank you
Our local Face Book group "Backyard Birds of the Inland Empire" says just be happy I got them ID'd in my yard.
Good shots, for now, Robert and what's important is that they are back and you have tomorrow to look forward to! Take care!
