Mr Clean. That was my registered janitorial business many years ago. Hello.

What do desire in a point and shoot? I'm guessing price, or maybe size. . .or both? If it's economy, I look for one that uses regular AA batteries, like Nikon Coolpix L26. It's smal, one can get batteries anywhere and way less expensive than a smart phone.

I own the Canon Power Shot S 100 pocket camera and just love it. It has all the features, is extremely well built, and takes great pictures. My wife has the same camera and is very happy with it. Originally cost around $400, but used ones are in the $190.00 range. If you are looking for a well built, true pocket camera 3.5x2.5x.5, this is it. I carry it with me even when I have my D850 hanging around my neck.

The Nikon Coolpix B700. But I do shoot RAW, and set my iso, aperture and shutter speed manually for the best results.

Sony RX100ii. I had the first model, the Rx100i, until I jumped in a swimming pool with it. I found a used like new "ii" for about $450. I love the size and picture quality. It fits easily in your pocket. The newest models of the RX100 series are a bid pricey.

Another vote for the Sony RX100 series. I had a model RX100iii for three years and recently sold it for a refurbished RX100v.

Yes. I took these pictures from essentially the same spot at different zoom settings. I was on vacation in the Lake District in England. I fiddled with the sharpness settings to render as much detail as possible. This is about what you get from a 1 inch sensor. My only issue with the camera is the limited zoom range compared with many that have been mentioned here. It wasn't usually an issue, but it did come up occasionally when I wanted more reach.

In comparing the Sony RX100xx to the Canon G7Xii, the two are pretty similar, however the G7Xii has a slightly wider lens--24mm vs. 28 for the RX100xx, and the Canon has a 100mm zoom as does the RX100, except that the RX100 3,4 and 5 each have a 28-70 zoom. Also, the Canon G7Xii has a slightly faster lens at full zoom. All else considered, they're pretty much the same. I'd say you wouldn't go wrong with either of them. Oh, and the RX100 3,4 and 5 have a pop up viewfinder. Neither the RX100 1 or 2 or the Canon has a viewfinder. Both the Canon and the Sony are a good choice.

I looked at both before buying the Canon. I figured they were both about the same. The Canon was less expensive than the 5 and had a bit more zoom range.

For me it would between the G7Xii and the RX100ii, as I do fine without the EVF. The scales tip toward the RX100ii as it's a bit less expensive, but then it tips toward the Canon because of the zoom range, it being wider, and a slightly faster lens.

The other camera I considered was the Panasonic Lumix RZ1000. It has a significantly longer zoom range than the Canon or Sony. I went through some test reports with pictures and felt that the pictures were not as sharp as those shown for the other two cameras. But then I learned something. My Canon was significantly sharper after I tweaked some settings like the sharpening and sharpening threshold. I took controlled pictures to prove it. I now take these test reports with a grain of salt. You really need to shoot some pictures yourself to understand your camera's capabilities and limitations and not necessarily rely on default settings.
