Great shots. Thank you for sharing. If MLB insists on opening the season in late March, the games should be in California, Florida, Texas and Arizona, not Boston, Chicago, Detroit and New York.

Thank you rdemarco52! I'd add a few of the indoor stadiums to the list. The Cubs were in Milwaukee this past weekend to take 3 of 4 indoors while it snowed outside in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Oh, well. A nice day off after beating up on the Brewers over the weekend. Go Cubbies!

I've heard of fans chasing the balls on the street hit over the wall.

Thanks. Even in Idaho I can feel a kinship to the Cubs. We all know what a long losing streak can be like in our lives. Once in a while we get lucky and win a championship or two just to keep hope for a brighter tomorrow alive.

These are great, and I appreciated/loved your commentary. From Southern Indiana, and have made it to quite a few Cubs games at Wrigley and over in St. Louis. Anyone who loves baseball had to enjoy the series in 2016. Best wishes to the team and fans this year.

Bunch of wimps - the White Sox played (and lost) their game that same day just across town.

The Sox are easy to love as well, but I don't think the players, wimps or cave men, get to vote on whether a game is called.

The home opener today, Tues, involved an F-16 flyover, probably another reason to cancel early yesterday.

The Southside game even started the same time as the original schedule yesterday. They're about 10-miles due south of Wrigley and probably had a different amount of snow, if any.

Thank you Michael! The conditions are much better today. Still rather chilly, but mostly sun and high clouds. But, losing in the bottom of the 5th. Glad you enjoyed.

I live a block away from the stadium. I've lived a few places in Chicago, mostly in this neighborhood for the past 28-years. It's very much a party weekend every weekend through the summer when they're at home. The past few years they've added several concerts to the off weekends. Now, if we can keep adding pennants and championships.

The left field foul pole and the low bleachers shown above are one of the two sections where balls fly out of the park onto the streets surrounding the stadium.

California has three National League Teams. So, the Cubs get to travel west and play all 3 teams. And vice versa to Chicago at Historic Wrigley Field. All of America was rooting for the Cubs when they finally won the World Series. They finally broke that Billy Goat curse. The Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants moved west in the late 1950s. Nice photos too.

Thank you mas24! The last time I was to SF I caught a Dodgers / Giants game. Although still mid-season being late July, it felt like playoff baseball with fans following every pitch.
