Does anyone know of a program which will give me the shutter count of a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ0-1000 camera? The ones that I know of only seem to work on a DSLR.

Gee thanks 'hookedup'. It was a little complicated but it worked. I was just preparing my wife's FZ-1000 for sale and I needed that information. It only had 1100 shutter actuations.

Yeah I noticed that page seemed to be a bit complicated... I bet there is other pages that are simpler....

Yes, I agree that it is very simple and I use it for my Nikons but the website you have recommended only works for most DSLR cameras, not all. And it does not work for the Panasonic FZ-1000.
Shutter count..........does a shutter wear more rapidly if you are in the habit of shooting in "Burst Mode"
is single shot mode kinder to the mechanism?

Short answer yes. Shutter life varies, but they do have a finite design life, whether it is 100K or 500K the regular use of burst mode will wear the thing out faster. It really depends on your behavior. Burst mode is great when you need it, but perhaps you should ask your self what you use it for, and when you need it.
