How will you make them compatible? Nikon or Canon converted to "E". Manual or AF?

Either Metabones adapter... not sure if AF will work

Then that is the first question to ask and if AF does not work or not especially well then that's a huge factor in your decision. There is a "dumb" adapter for Nikon that, for sure, won't do AF. There may be one that will do it. The Metabones for Canon will work in theory but check the list on their site for the specific lens. Also be aware that some people who have put out YouTube vids have pointed out that the Metabones adapter's AF performance is not the same for all the lenses, even the ones that work. If I recall correctly, the longer the lens the less likely to get fast, accurate AF.

You may want to consider either the 70-400 by Sony for A-mount (LA-EA3 needed) or the Sony GM 100-400 for E mount. Both are bigger, heavier and likely more expensive. But they both work extremely well with the a6300 or a6500. The attached was taken with an a6500 and the 100-400, both rented.

Well, obviously, If I pay $650.00 for a lens, I would want it to work properly on my camera, as It would on the Canon or Nikon...(actually it would be more if you count in the adapter, so I may be better off going to a native lens..)

I think the Sigma 18-300 in Canon mount will work (well) with the Sigma adapter FWIW....... and you can use the Clear Image Zoom to take you past 300.
