Are all M43rds lenses interchangeable?

I currently have a Panasonic GX85 ILC and 3 lenses. 2 are Panasonics and one is Olympus. Both brands of lenses work just as well on either brands bodies without any adapters. So I ask, can other brands of mirrorless lenses work just as well on either body without the aid of adapters? A specific example......can a Canon M lens work on my Panasonic M43rds body, just as easily as the Olympus lens can? Can off brand mirrorless lenses work on my Panny without an adapter?

No. You need an adapter.

Stick with m4/3 lenses. We have plenty to choose from...especially under 75mm

Only M4/3 will fit. Olympus and Panasonic are the main brands, but there are a few others, such as Leica and 3rd party. Note that on older Panasonic bodies, Olympus lenses will work, but you lose Image Stabilization.

Only M 4/3 lenses will work, but the older 4/3 lenses will work with an adapter and with the right adapter will meter and auto focus.

Because Panasonic put their IS in the lenses vs Olympus who stablised the body (5 axis!). That’s why my wife and I bought Olympus for our m4/3 shooting.

Think about it ...

... Can a Nikon lens be used on a Canon?

The Canon M mount (?) is physically different from the m4/3 mount & the flange-to-film-plane distance is undoubtedly different ... I don't know whether or not there is an adapter.

As others have noted, the Olympus bodies have the image stabilization (IS), so none of their lenses have IS ... while they may fit on the Panasonic m4/3 camera body, it will be like shooting with a typical film camera which does not have image stabilization.

Okay, I'm an inquiring mind ...

¿ What are some of the "Leica and 3rd party" lenses which have m4/3 mounts?

Check out this web page for a list of lenses made for the M43rds system. http://www.four-thirds.org/en/microft/lense.html

I have a couple of the Sigma lenses that I like very well.

Think about it; all 4/3rds lenses work for basic functions on all 4/3rds bodies. If one buys a 4/3rds body, one has 142 choices of lenses! Which other format gives one that kind of choice? Yes, a 4/3rds lens will require a M4/3rds lens adapter, but all the basic function will work.

And if that is not enough, there are adapters out there for other format lenses to attach them to 4/3rds bodies. There is no guarantee that all basic functions work in these cases.

Another very extensive (aging) list of 4/3 lenses with off brands noted and the workable older 4/3 lenses. Hazeghi list:

This might be ending up more complicated than intended. If so I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm aware the Olympus M43rds lens can be used on Panasonic bodies and that Panasonic M43rds lenses can be mounted on Olympus M43rds bodies WITHOUT the aid of any adapters. Are those the only 2 brands that can be used that way? Will the Sigma M43rds lenses require an adapter on either the Oly or Panny bodies to be used fully?

If it is listed as a M43rds lens, it will work as is, no adapter required.
