I was born about one year after that in Germany of German parents and lived there till 1956.

I was stationed there 69-70, what a difference 25 years made. West Berlin, as it was known then, didn't have any devastation left that I saw but East Berlin did.

Proud to have served in Berlin from Feb.61 until Aug.63. Wonderful city with much history.Went back in 1998-2006 and 2010.My military group will have a reunion there this year in Aug.

That Aerial Film Footage at the very end told it all. Hitler had bombed London at the beginning of the War. Now, the Allies got the final payback. Berlin. Sadly to say, war is hell. In any time period. I met a B-17 Bomber Pilot, who was my roommate in the hospital. He bombed Nazi Military Supply Centers in Germany. He never mentioned Berlin. But, he did his part. He is now deceased. He lived long enough to see East and West Germany to be reunited. He was happy about that.
