Maybe it's me, but it seems like on TV, most all the commercials have a dog in them somewhere.
Has anybody noticed?
I'm televisionally challenged and have been since July of 2002. The few commercials I've seen in recent months haven't had dogs in them. That is, unless it's a dog related product being sold.

Actually, Charles, this past winter, I stayed inside entirely too much, and watched way too much TV, and yes, there are dogs in quite a few commercials. I know this because when we upgraded to a large high-def TV, my two dogs all of a sudden "noticed" the dogs on the TV and would go freakin' crazy. (I am patiently working with them to break that habit.)
To make matters worse, my wife loves "Cops" and "Live-PD" and when they break out the police dogs, it's mayhem in the living room. LOL

William Randolph Heart, the newspaper/magazine magnate, once famously said: "Show me a magazine with a pretty girl, a baby, or a dog on the cover and I will show you a magazine that sells". I don't think anyone has come up with a better advertising rule of thumb since!

I would avoid the baby and the girl...give me the dogs every time!

Nothing unusual about that. There are lots of "commons" in commercials, aside from everyone smiling and laughing for no apparent reason. Whenever you see a trailer, it's an Airstream.
I like dogs,so I will watch the cute dog commercials even if the product is worthless, which it generally is.

Our dogs don't bark at the dogs on screen. However, if a door bell rings on the tv, they go ape-sht! Sounds like they're ready to kill. They do that when anyone comes on our property or even looks like they might. Husband has to corral his dog, my poodle keeps on bouncing off the loveseat and I try to slip out the door to intercept the intruder. I think of that as my cardio for the day.
Don't know about the dogs so much, but what you're most likely to see in commercials today are strong, empowered women buying, saying, doing whatever and a docile, milk-toast man trying to keep up. No agenda there, is there?

My wife & I are absolutely addicted to Live PD.
We record the show and watch it back the next night skipping over the commercials.
God bless those folks. They risk their lives.

I'm in love with an organization called "Canine Companions for Independence".
They are on the Web.
It's amazing what they accomplish.
