Because of her interest in birds, my wife and I make regular trips to Pt. Pelee NP on the north shore of Lake Erie, located there because it is where migrating birds stop to refuel on their northward migration {normally warblers are in the tree tops chasing mosquitoes and other insects, so this is the best opportunity to see these small birds}. Because of her employment in higher education, though, we nearly always arrive at the tail end of the migration. By my count, we have made eleven trips there; I usually come away with maybe half a dozen pictures - but they are all of nature in general; these three are the only warbler pictures I've taken.
.............
1999 - adult Yellow Warblers nesting near path; 300mm on Canon EOS Elan 35mm camera
2014 - juvenile Yellow Warbler off in the bush; 300mm on 1.6 crop Canon Rebel
2017 - unidentified Warbler in the marsh; 300mm on 1.5 crop Pentax K-30
Nice. We saw our first warbler of the year today near our front window flitting around a japanese maple. An Orange crown female. Spring is coming on, albeit slowly.
