First time in memory, that I have seen wild turkeys in the city limits, much less in my back yard. They left the peas alone in the garden so there were none "accidentally" harvested. Ce la ve.

They can come visit me in November. I've seen Wild Turkeys at Lake Lopez, SLO Co, CA.

My younger son and his family in Walnut Creek, CA and are often visited by up to a dozen wild turkeys at a time. They are extremely messy and unpleasant to have around. While they may be photogenic, I certainly don't want them around my home! One is astonished that Benjamin Franklin proposed that the wild turkey should be the National Bird. I, for one, am certainly happy that the Bald Eagle won out. As much as I admire Benjamin Franklin, that was not his best suggestion!

Really no worse than wild geese :-) and a lot quieter in my opinion. As for Ben, must have been one of his off-days.
