Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea) in flight. We have a herony on Duddingston Loch right in the heart of the City of Edinburgh safe from predators out on some islands. Growing in size each year.

I am so jealous, these pics are wonderful we have great blue herons (similar to these in the pictures) in our area, but I haven't been able to get close enough for good pictures. You are very lucky, thanks for sharing!
