It seems to have taken me longer than I care to admit to time the speed of the bird with my cam/lense on the eye. I think I'm finally starting to get there. Any tips to help me improve greatly appreciated. The Rooster!

I would agree that you are "starting to get there." Shutter speed appears correct, placement and grouping of birds looks good, obviously you're given thought to where the subjects are in the overall image and you are paying attention to background. You are also avoiding, for the most part, mergers in the groupings. The gull shot is just about perfect, nice sharpness in the eye, but maybe moving the subject over to the right just a tad would improve it...a really nice shot. Love the motion you caught on the geese from the one in the bottom right corner. I like the closeness of the second shot, the duck, more than the distance of the last shot and the second to last shot is fairly dark, so some image correction to lighten might work out for a better shot and might help put some more focus on the reflection. In the last shot, you were obviously pushing the lens ability at the distance you were at and those shots, while fun to take, just do not turn out as well as the closer shots. I think you have done an absolutely great job at working on getting good bird shots. Keep doing whatever you are doing, trying to get in as close as possible and still set the environment and watch your exposure. If you use Lightroom you can increase the size of a subject in the Transform panel; I do this often with bird images. If you do this, however, the image must be very sharp. Also, I think this should have been posted in the Gallery section where you can ask for a critique.
