New Sony A7F camera.
Sony is launching a new Sony A7F camera according to one of their higly respected sources. The F stands for film. The camera is E mount and can use all current E mount lenses or adapt to older glass as other E mount cameras do. And this camera is a high fps camera that can do a roll of film in 2 seconds. It is launched as a response to growing demand of film cameras and was designed to be an even better camera than the legendary Nikon F5 that is still in production.
I think pre orders are already taken today at a special discounted Easter price. Go Sony and film
Unfortunately I still have more film cameras than I need so I am not buying this camera but it should be an excellent choice for those who want a high end 35 mm film camera.
I wonder how they are gathering info for focus and exposure, Jon. Pellicle mirror, maybe?

They have figured something out for that
Not a good April fool because the camera is impossible to make. A good April fool is something that is possible but not going to happen.
I wonder who owns the Contax brand name now. I know that Kyocera had the brand for many years but I don't know now.

I do not know about the ownership of the brand. But do you think this design is a better April fools day project than the Sony A7F?

I do think so because it's something that is possible to make and in fact it's more interesting to use.
The Sony served no purpose.
Because I often print very large, I prefer at least medium format for film. My very old Rollei and the Mamiya 7 both still work just fine. If I had a light weight wheelbarrow, the Mamiya RB67 is one more (of many) wonderful old film mediums that I no longer use. Of course everyone knows the Hasselblad name too.
This topic was a special April fools day topic. Keep that in mind ;)
