Don’t you have warranty on this thing?

It may be a common problem - they’re back-ordered.

Since the title indicates 'door' he probably means the one on the camera rather than the one on the grip.

Could it be this one?

I think so.

I didn't post the link because they don't show a picture nor give a part #. I couldn't find it listed anywhere else.

There have been reports here of the same thing happening with other Nikons. I have grips on all my cameras that take them, which avoids that problem.

That used to happen on me. D800. Have not had it happen to my D850 yet. Since the batteries are interchangeable and the doors look the same, I would look for an 800/810 battery door at stores, Nikon USA or eBay.

Call Nikon at 1-800-645-6687. or 1-800-nikon-us. (same number) If your camera is still under warranty they might send you a new one.

I don't think the door ever come off while in use. It only comes off when you open to replace battery. Yeah, it's easy to come off but MIA? Don't you pay attention when replacing battery?

Similar complaints cropped-up when Nikon's Df came out. I have never had the problem, with any of my Nikon cameras (knock on wood). My take on it is, when I pick-up a $3000.00 piece of plastic with moving parts, I pay close attention to what I do.

And if I spent $3000 on a camera, I would expect something other than a battery compartment door that falls off.

Wow,
A whole new reason to file away as support for buying Canon instead of Nikon! 🤔

Maybe Nikon is battery door challenged. My D5100 had the problem.
