I am looking to purchase a used wide angle lens for my Canon Rebel T6 (58mm thread). My budget is rather limited
I'd look at bhphotovideo.com to start to see what is available and in your price range. There are also a few other good companies that sell used lenses which other members will know, like KEH Camera.
(The 58mm reference is the thread size for filters for your present lens, not used to select a new lens. A different lens may have a different filter size.)

A "lens" mounts on your camera body. A "filter" mounts on your lens.

Re: The thread size - OOPS!🤓
And thanks!
The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 is a very good wide angle lens from Canon which I have for the Rebel T5. It was made for the crop sensor cameras. The filters will be an additional purchase. B&H sells for $287. B&H also sells used lenses, check their used site also. Canon has a refurbished lens site and includes a 1 year used lens warranty. If you can be patient, sign up for Canon advertisements. Canon has sales on refurbished lenses, so you get a refurbished price with a 10% to 15% further reduction and still the 1 year warranty. There is also a kit which includes the EF-S 10-18mm and a EF 50mm 1.8 prime lens, both for about $350 new. Waiting for a sale you may get the 2 lens kit for closer to $300. I have the kit and I'm very happy with their images. The filters for the 10-18mm and 50mm are 67mm and 49mm respectfully, but if you buy always check the filter size yourself just to be sure the size is right. B&H has 2 videos on you tube on Canon lenses presented by Rudy Winston, a Canon employee. Rudy is a wealth of information and does not push their higher cost lenses; he is a great resource. B&H presents many great educational videos through their "event center" or on you tube, check them out. Good luck.

The 10-18mm Canon is a great lens . I highly recommend it and got mine refurbished from Canon for 189.00 with a one year warranty .
The Canon Efs 10-18mm is excellent and not too expensive, even new.
